Happy Birthday, dear Karlie!

Dear Karlie Sue,
You are 12 now.  So hard to believe.  You are smart, sweet, and super helpful.  I honestly don't know what I would have done without your help this year.  You take care of school health checks completely and usually fix your lunch the night before.  You hold the baby for me so that I can brush everyone's hair and help me remember everything I have forgotten.  You totally took over doing Susanna's spelling homework every night for me because I was overwhelmed with doing Algebra with Karis and couldn't give Susanna the time that she needed.  You play "Shut the Box" with her also to help with her math facts.  I absolutely love your great desire to get up and read your Bible early every morning with me.  Because of your eagerness, I actually managed to have devotions almost every morning during morning sickness and I don't think that has happened in any of my previous pregnancies.  I so very much enjoy that quiet time we have together on mornings when Sophia sleeps in and I don't have to make a longer breakfast. Your persistence is an inspiration to me.  I love your contagious laugh and how it comes so easy to you.  I love how much you love your sisters and try to help them.  I am so thankful that you enjoy holding Sophia each morning while I go to the bathroom and wash my face and try to wake up.  I love that you are kind and friendly and helpful to everyone you meet.  There are so many more things that I love and appreciate about you!  It is a joy to be your mother and I can't wait to see what God does in your life this year!

We had such a fun day celebrating you and Papa Eric!  Daddy used his new grill to create a delicious feast for us and the cakes you and Karis made were delicious!

Also, I just love the fact that you wanted a dictionary for your birthday!
