Oh what a sweet baby we have! Sophia is the biggest 6 month baby we have ever had, weighing in at over 18 pounds and in the 96th percentile for height! She has thankfully been super healthy and happy and is scooting backwards all over the place. Every now and then, she manages to go forwards but usually it is backwards. She can sit up fairly well on her own now, but we still have to put a pillow or blanket behind her because she will go backwards when she gets tired or angry. Sophia still isn't much of a napper but she does really well at night and usually stays in bed from 6 pm to 7am. She loves her bunny lovey and if you touch it to her face, she immediately sticks her pointer finger in her mouth and starts sucking and closing her eyes. She has become a pretty happy car rider and seems to enjoy looking out the window a lot. She still doesn't like waiting in one place very much, though. Sophia absolutely loves to eat people food! I usually give her a spoonful of butter, applesauce, cod liver oil, or yogurt to chew on while I am serving the food. But what she really loves is when I give her tiny bites from my own plate. As long as it is soft enough and not processed food, I usually share with her. Sophia has learned that she has to be loud to be heard in our busy house so she can squeal pretty loudly if she wants something or just wants attention. We are starting to try to teach the the sign for "more" so she doesn't scream at us when she runs out of food and "all done" so she doesn't scream when she wants to get out of her high chair. Sophia loves watching her sisters play around her and likes it even more if they are talking or singing to her. Her absolute favorite thing to do is read books and that always gets her out of a bad mood. However, every time we stop reading to her, she gets upset! We recently started taking walks again on spring-like days and she seems to really love being outside. We all just adore her and can't get enough of that sweet smile!
