More Easter Fun

From the desk of Karlie DeLong


On Saturday, we went to an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Papa's church. I was too old, so I helped Alyssa. She actually did not need much help, though!They found chocolate bunnies and each got $3 and a gift bag with candy. Mrs. Donna read the Easter story to all of the kids. We left later that day. On Sunday, we went to an outdoor Easter service at our church. The weather was perfect! We got to talk to Mrs. Dotty for the first time in weeks! Then, we went to Nina and Papa's house for the evening and did Easter baskets. Abbi, Susanna, and Alyssa spent two nights there. They cleaned out the playhouse and Abbi plowed the field. Daddy, Karis, and I went on a hike while they were gone. Then, we came up for Papa's birthday on April 6. Karis had made him a beautiful strawberry cake! Karis and I stayed with them for two nights. We worked very hard painting the playhouse to surprise the little girls.  It looks like a dollhouse! While we were gone, they went to Loch Haven Lake. Abbi caught 11 salamanders!

We were going to go bowling and then go back to her house, but there was a tournament going on, so we just went back for a playdate. The other guests were Zoe Meador, Aubrey Ferguson, and Lilli Farnsworth. We played some games and then got dressed up for a really fancy dinner. Emma's parents dressed up as our waiter and waitress. We pretended that we were in the 1700's. It was so fun!

Random Ice Day

 We had a random winter storm and the girls were able to be out of school!  We forgot to take many pictures, but Karis used the time to re-organize her bookshelves.  Lolli decided that her legs made a nice pillow for a nap!  Abbi and Susanna were the only ones brave enough to try to go sledding on the ice but they had a lot of fun!

9 Poems

  May 29, 2021 Abigail DeLong I wrote nine poems about our pets. Here they are: Poem #1 Lolli and Cupcake were not friends when Lolli had her kittens. I was so happy, I sang a song while I jumped on the trampoline with Karlie and Susanna Delong. Lolli had her kittens, four, But suddenly, she had one more! Lolli has five kittens; they are so cute! They make me want to jump around the house and play a little flute. I am so proud of Lolli. She reminds me of Karis and Karlie! THE END Poem #2 One of the kitten's names is Taffy. Sometimes, she is very snappy. She was the third kitten born, but she cannot blow on a horn. She is a calico kitten, but she hasn't any mittens. Lolli is very proud, because sometimes, Taffy is loud.
